5th graders created identity silhouettes as their final project this year. It has been so wonderful teaching these students all year. I’m sad to see them leave, but I know they’ll do great in the middle school! #TEAMEast #ProudToBeLB

First day of East Elementary Enrichment art class was so much fun! We created fall themed drawings and learned how to add color by making tinfoil prints. Great job kindergarten and 1st grade artists!

I love that I get to work in the same school as my aunt. Being able to join in on the fall festival fun with her kindergarten class is an experience we will both cherish forever!

Enrichment Thursday is so much fun!

Today 1st grade artists used Model Magic to learn how the primary colors can be mixed to create the secondary colors! Then, they created sea creatures with the primary and secondary colored clay. Such a fun hands on learning experience!

They loved it. They were so excited to tell me about their great art class making sea creatures. 🐙🐠🐬#funinfirst.

These two decided to collaborate on their landscape paintings! First they matched up their drawings and now they’re planning and mixing colors together. The teamwork is awesome!

Absolutely blown away by these 5th grade artists. Drawing animals from observation and placing them in an imaginary environment was definitely a challenging task, but I think they nailed it!

We know there are even more than 20 reasons why the arts are important. It's important to advocate for the arts every month, but with March being Youth Art Month we have a great opportunity to show why the arts matter! Why do the arts matter to you? #youthartmonth

2nd graders discussed what makes up a community and what they love about Long Beach. After a great conversation, students began designing their very own community collages! I am loving how their ideas are coming to life!
