First grade is learning about light and shadows during our science block so we decided to do some Flashlight reading during our read to self time! It was a big hit! 🔦 📚 #isdfirst

Happy National Apple Day! 🍎 this week we have studied Johnny Appleseed, had an Apple tasting, did an apple experiment and tomorrow we will make applesauce! I love making these fun memories with my sweet kiddos ❤️

The ISD parade activities for tomorrow are cancelled. We have been monitoring storm chances and the forecast for tomorrow morning is uncertain at best. Enjoy your weekend!

During our free writing time yesterday a student wrote our elf asking him to come early! Her letter must have been pretty persuasive because he surprised us today with his favorite candy canes.

It’s always fun to learn with a sweet treat on a Friday!! Oreos were the perfect tool to use to create our moon phases. 🌚🌗🌖 #isdfirst

The unimaginable happened today...🙊 😂I accidentally knocked my elf down in front of my students.. but thankfully Kara Schoff came to the rescue! 😅🙌🏼

Our elf was feeling like a Grinch today so we read the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas and came up with ways we could make the Grinch’s heart grow while enjoying a sweet treat!

I’m so thankful for my mentor, Kara Schoff for taking time to make this awesome resource for me!! Discussions during our reading time are about to go a lot deeper! 🙌🏼
