Another year of a successful egg drop here at PSE! 🥚🚒

Before the PSE's Egg Drop Contest, 3rd graders designed devices to shield raw eggs (astronauts) dropped from a height. Throughout the week, they tested & refined their devices. Yesterday, 3 out of 6 eggs survived. #science Collier County Public Schools Parkside Elementary Collier Science Dept

The good news just keeps rolling in for the Parkside Family! You may recall that back in February, during our school's Everglades Week, our students helped raise money to tag a Swallow-tailed Kite. Well, we are proud to introduce you to Suwannee Scout!

Not only did our students help to raise money to buy a tracker for this bird, but they also picked the name! Suwannee Scout was successfully captured, tagged, and released on 6/5/2025. Since then, the Avian Research and Conservation Institute has been monitoring its health.

We are pleased to announce that Suwannee Scout is healthy & the agency is beginning to track its location data. Today, our teachers were WIGGING out and celebrating our smart cookies' success. We gathered all students, Pre-K to 5th grade, in the cafeteria to recognize their hard work from last year that led to PSE being an A school for the first time!

And no celebration would be complete without a dance party and a treat!
