Year 5at Richmond have been inspired by The Breakfast Club Adventures MR14 and the campaigns he has done for free meals and ending child poverty. They have asked Mrs Rahman can they drive this years harvest collection. #endchildpoverty

Had that proud teacher moment today…zircon have been learning about poetry, how to comprehend and perform them.. during reading comprehension the completely understood the poem The English Rose.. I was blown away. Then they performed The River as a class. #confidentcommunicators

Another proud teacher moment.. this week year 5 have been learning multiplication and every single child smashed it… in their soundcheck challenge they all improved their scores. 2 children even doubled their score. Well done.. #expertlearners Richmond Academy

Zircon Class have been inspired to create some art work in celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, Chinese New Year.

What a great start to curriculum week. Children in Zircon dressed to express. We had traditional dress right through to dressing in blue because it remind them of the ocean, sometimes a little crazy but often very calm. #letsconnect Richmond Academy

Zircon had an amazing time today at castleshaw. Following the stream to find the source as part of their river topic xx we all just sat and took a moment to admire the view. Children were memorised.

Yesterday Zircon looked how different their fingerprints were as part of STEM week. Using different methods. We came to the conclusion that the majority of the class have a loop style fingerprint.

Zircon class had to build a bridge this week. They were not given many materials and they had to see which would support the most glue sticks. Yellow table won with this design. They worked well as a team and used their materials wisely. #beaproblemsolver #theharmonypledge
