A2: it’s fun to involve parents on this side too! Call home with the kids right there. It takes 2 minutes. I also do a fair amount of good notes home to empower the student to continue the good behavior. Things like step out of line and walk to lunch by yourself is my fave #txed

A3: a good admin team will absolutely support the teacher by helping defuse, offering guidance, and listening. I don’t use the office a lot. When I do, it’s serious. So I need serious help. But they aren’t there to do the daily dirty work that comes w discipline. #txed

I totally agree! Kids know when adults care every day and not just when they’re extra good or extra bad.

But it is a slap in the face when they come back with a candy bar. I won’t complain, but it’s not right.

A4: Rennell Elementary knows I love a clip system. But not THAT old fashioned clip system. Whispering and finding what makes them tick helps out a lot. #txed
