We were in a team meeting after school & suddenly heard a dog bark. We looked out to see the most adorable St. Bernard puppy with kids in the hallway. It was a guest animal at an after school class today. Did I leave the meeting so I could go pet it? Yes, I did. #BackToSchool

This morning when I reminded students that today was early release, they booed. They wanted to stay at school. When I explained that leaving at 1:30 meant they would get home before the 112 heat, then they cheered! I love this group. #backtoschool #day3

We study the phenomena of water striders and use the Penny drop to explain surface tension. The kids get to take the penny home. One of mine was excited his penny was from 1990! He said it’s collectible. It was so cute, I couldn’t zap his joy and explain it still worth 1 cent.
