Another week of #LooniesforLiteracy and today everyone wore a hat for our "Hats Off To Literacy" day. We continue to raise money for books in our school, you can scan the QR code and help us reach our goal HughABennettCBE

WOW! For the first time since #LooniesForLiteracy 2023 started @GP_VanierSchool has been toppled from the #1 fundraising spot. Which school is now in 1st place? 🥁 HughABennettCBE! Can they hold onto the top spot as Loonies enters its final two weeks? 👀#WeAreCBE

As part of #looniesforliteracy we had several making words challenges up for ss to engage with. So many ss have been applying their knowledge. Our class underlined letter blends that we've been working on. These fun tasks are helping us to read and write. HughABennettCBE

Today was our last day to raise funds for #LooniesforLiteracy. We wore RED to celebrate all the books we READ! Our pride in taking on these literacy challenges is through the roof and so is the list of books that we read. You can still help us by scanning the QR HughABennettCBE

As part of Earth Day learning, ss explored Indigenous counter texts to hear different perspectives about pollution and the land . Our learning and discussion was meaningful due to the Ethical Space created as we compared and contrasted the texts. HughABennettCBE #wearecbe

On Friday our staff wore red clothing for #RedforEd. HughABennettCBE Calgary Teachers

We did a Sit Spot at our local pond. We closed our eyes and connected to the sounds, smells and feelings the land was sharing with us. Then we quietly watched nature and pondered ?'s like: why dont all birds sound the same? Do they understand eachother? #wearecbe HughABennettCBE

Today we gathered as a school to honour, learn about and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. We are so grateful for the 3 new flags that our school was gifted. We look forward to learning more about them & the cultures they represent 🧡 HughABennettCBE #wearecbe

Well, thats a wrap! Happy Summer to all students, family and staff, it's been a great year! It was hard to say good bye but I am looking forwad to my new adventure at a new school next year. Thanks for everything HAB, I'll never forget everything I learned here or the people! ❤️
