Today my husband defended his thesis & obtained his Ph.D! He immigrated from Poland, taught himself English by studying the dictionary in 3rd grade and he’s the 1st person in his family to get a college education. Anything is possible w/ hard work, resilience & determination!🎓👏🏻

What a great article! Thank you for sharing, Margaret Watson !! I have so much so say. However, my main takeaway is that: equity matters. Reading matters. We need to give ALL students access to proper opportunities for language and reading development. This is crucial.
