What’s brightening my Tuesday is I had to change my password and run updates on district WiFi … everything went off without issue 🙌🏼

Teachers especially #firstyearteachers, if you buy a rolling cart with drawers then also spend the $7 and get loctite to put on the screws as you assemble it. I’ve had the same drawers for 11 years and mine does not lean or wobble. #teachertip #edchat

My first day back was yesterday for a meeting and of course my computer had two large updates to download and install so #teachers plan accordingly lol

This does not only apply to first year teachers, but also if you’re new in a grade or district/building. Your year one won’t look like their year 20 and that’s ok.

#teacher friends, I’m considering covering my table in dry erase vinyl (no paint) ——- does anyone have a suggestion on which specific product or roll to buy? Any tips or tricks on application? I’d like to cover the whole table. #edchat

As a #newteacher I was always envious of ppl who had their families to help set up their rooms. My bf at the time was my only person (now husband) & every year he comes to move furniture or set up my tech, etc. Either way, shout out to the unpaid yet essential labor. 💜😘🙌🏼

Should #teachers HAVE to work prior to contract to set up their rooms? No. But what I do like about it for me is the flexibility. I can work 1 hr at 7am or 6pm or work 5 hours straight. Our job has almost no flexibility so it’s nice to have choice.

#teacherhack - if you are using one of these small laminators and are trying to laminate tiny pieces, put a bit of glue stick on the back of them. Now they won’t move when going through the laminator.

I organize my classroom library alphabetically by authors last name. This year I added the dividers to help since my students self manage checking books in and out. Hoping it helps. #teacherlife

I thought negative attitudes were part of being in education until I worked somewhere where overall the culture and conversations were positive. It felt SO different and almost took a mental load off.

I’ve worked at schools where meet the teacher or open house was school shirt and jeans to easily identify staff and worked in others where it was best foot forward to professional dress. What do you do? #edchat

Teacher #mealprep for the first week back w kids. Includes nothing that needs to be heated. 47g of protein so I’ll be full. Options that I can also eat early on plan time, like yogurt, or later if I don’t finish.

Indoor recess the first few weeks if school should be illegal I mean I get it but come on Mother Nature.

Karma is a thing… I’m not a hugger. So of course 90% of my students pick hug as their morning greeting. 🫠🙃 #teacherlife
