First day of half term and I’ve walked my boys to school in the sunshine, had a lovely chat to their headteacher, and now off to a bookshop. A great way to start the holidays! #timeforme

#mathsonholiday We went to M.A.D museum in Stratford today and it was full of glorious things!!

A good half term finished off with a work day to complete the next Y8 booklet on area and volume. Relaxing and then productive (also read 5 books so it’s all about balance!)

Really interesting session with Dylan Wiliam on research driven school improvement, lots to think about. My takeaway is about not looking for the next big thing until you’ve nailed the last one, and evaluating properly. Thanks Complete Maths for hosting

Really excited this evening to see how the Y11 mock results turn out. After p1 top set are on course for some great results. Let see if they can maintain it!!

Today for #WBD2024 I read to my KS3 classes from this wonderful book (then one of my Y11s stole it at lunch to read through himself!) I might deal with numbers all day but I love to read and share that with others!

An hour after school with set 1 and an hour clinic online tonight for set 2. Fingers crossed for a fair paper tomorrow!

School on a Sunday can only mean one thing - Maths exam tomorrow. 100 students in attendance makes it all worthwhile 🤩

We waved goodbye (until Fri!) to some wonderful students today at the leavers assembly. I need to bottle how I have felt today to open on the really tough days because seeing how much they’ve cared and appreciated it all makes it worth it.

This has felt particularly accurate this week with transition!! My secret friend gift at school, because we all need a boost at the end of the year

We’ve had a bit of fun for the last 4 weeks at Heritage High School with staff gifting each other in secret. I had the pleasure of doing the matching and organising. Today I got a surprise myself! Thank you Debbie Elsdon they’re beautiful!

Now that the whirlwind of the first week is done I can look back and reflect on this beautiful sight…..do nows, Y11 hw booklets and lesson booklets all arrived ready for students! (There were actually 12 boxes missing from this that we had to chase and have now arrived!

Not me, in my hotel room, finishing the pre-tasks for the Mastery Specialists residential an hour before it starts! Excited for some more learning
