Outdoor classroom days are our favourite days in 3B. The pure joy and curiosity that came from these kiddos led to spontaneous inquiry & made for the most amazing afternoon in the fresh air St.Patrick Catholic School Camrose
It was a beautiful #InternationalWomensDay in 3Boh today. We had important conversations & celebrated the gals in our classroom, lives and world St.Patrick Catholic School Camrose
to get authentic inspiration for our first Haiku poems, we got up close and personal with our topics today (my ECE brain is shouting from the rooftops that messy play is so good for the soul & mind) #classroombeyondwalls St.Patrick Catholic School Camrose
Our classroom has used the Indigenous Medicine wheel as a guiding principle all year. We re-created our individual medicine wheels of Spring with adjectives of who we are in our minds, hearts, spirits & bodies at this point of gr3. The outcome is beautiful St.Patrick Catholic School Camrose
Grade 1 has my whole heart 🤍 Starting each morning with Wâniskâ grounds our busy minds and bodies through connection and belonging — & today we collected & created patterns with natural materials in the beautiful September sunshine Elk Island Catholic Schools
Today we did open ended observations of our environment as we prepare to welcome Takwakin (Autumn) next week. The beginning of our exploration of environment through the seasonal changes. We love our outdoor classroom 🪵 at St. Martin's School Elk Island Catholic Schools
The rainbow of Autumn! 🍁🍂🌿We found so many colours in nature for our collage to co-create a visual for learning our colour words #landbasedlearning Elk Island Catholic Schools
Today on #TakeMeOutsideDay we had the most beautiful classroom as we connected with the beautiful land and God’s creations. We began a class Land Acknowledgment, journaled, counted collections & had free exploration which is crucial for these growing brains Elk Island Catholic Schools
We ❤️ festive days leading up to Christmas break. Today was Christmas Tree Day. We worked through tree building challenges🎄no better way to end a Monday than STEM play! The team work and creativity was shining bright today…one group even made a “Whoville tree!”✨Elk Island Catholic Schools
On the 3rd day of Festive Fun, it was Elf Day. Grade 1S transformed into the North Pole & we were busy convincing Santa why we would be the best elves & practicing elf jobs: bakers, clothes makers, toy builders & feeding the reindeer🎄Elk Island Catholic Schools St. Martin's School
We’re learning about landmarks in Gr1 SS. This beautiful January weather seemed like the perfect time to go on a neighbourhood walk to identify landmarks in our community! Our Pysanka, the hospital, and church were on our tour today Elk Island Catholic Schools St. Martin's School
My heart is always extra full on Wednesday’s after running garden club with our Gr. 1-6 students. It’s so special to see the natural mentoring & curiosity amongst this group. This month we are re-growing lettuce & green onion from scraps 🌱Elk Island Catholic Schools St. Martin's School
Sharing this book with my students during Holy Week is something I look forward to: engaging daily with scripture, diving into Bible stories in child friendly language, & seeing them light up when we lift the flaps for our daily letters. One of my favourites ❤️✝️ Elk Island Catholic Schools
Before today's Board of Trustees meeting, our trustees attended mass with students from St. Martin's School and STMY Catholic School in Vegreville. They also welcomed St. Martin Grade 6 student Allie to lead them in prayer at the start of the public portion of their meeting. #eicscatholic
The BEST Science classroom today ☀️It is such a blessing that St. Martin's School is minutes away from beautiful parks to give amazing opportunity for outdoor learning
These green thumb students made my heart burst with pride as we worked together to plant a Pollinator Garden today. They are so proud of their work and can’t wait to add more special touches onto this addition to our school grounds 🐝🌼🦋 Elk Island Catholic Schools
