If you only work hard when you feel motivated, you’ll never be consistent enough to reach your biggest goals. To succeed in life, you need to have the discipline to work hard even when you don’t feel like it.

Somehow we’ve allowed society to be convinced that our schools biggest problems are the books in our libraries, the racism that gets discussed in our classrooms, and the sports teams our kids want to identify with, but not the guns that kill in our in hallways.

Addressing the teacher shortage shouldn't involve lowering criteria to be a teacher--it should involve supporting teachers, paying them, and providing the resources needed to best serve students.
