Good writers use adjectives to help their reader to create a mental picture. When given the first description, our pirates all looked different. Once adjectives were added, students could visualize the author’s pirate and create an accurate drawing. Mackenzie King PS
Our mentor text today reminded us that good writers use tools to improve their word choice. Students then used an online thesaurus to find synonyms for boring words, like ‘big’ or ‘cute’. Mackenzie King PS
Playing “Place Value Battleship - Decimal Edition” helps us review our understanding of decimal numbers (and how to say them like a mathematician). Mackenzie King PS
