8th graders studied aeronautics and how planes fly this semester in gateway class. They took some turns using a flight simulator to get the feel for flying. #EHRoyalPride

8th graders studied many different flying machines this semester. One was hot air balloons and how and why they fly. They made their own hot air balloons and flew them to see who's would stay airborne the longest. #EHRoyalPride

Before Fall break, the 1st 9-weeks 6th grade tech class created marble coasters to get a better understanding of rollercoaster physics. #EHRoyalPride

7th grade technology did a puzzle teamwork activity right after fall break. How well did they work together once they realized they didn't have all the pieces to the puzzle? Took some cooperation and perseverance, but they all finished. #EHRoyalPride

Bill Decker from Purdue Extension Discovery Programs visited our 8th grade gateway classes a few times this semester to teach them about the 4-H rocketry program and the students also built rockets and launched them.. #EHRoyalPride

8th grade gateway classes were introduced to our robotics fischertechniks this week. They practiced being able to communicate clear specific instructions to each other to build an object without looking. Can't skip steps or assume understanding in robotics. #EHRoyalPride

6th graders built Air Racers this week. Today, they got to do some practice runs before the upcoming tournament. #EHRoyalPride

7th Graders have been designing keychains that we will hopefully 3D print soon. They have also been learning about how to assemble with our 3D Computer Modeling software this week with their Pegboard Toy designs. #EHRoyalPride

One of my favorite student projects, and possibly the last time I'm able to do it. Students designed pull toys that use mechanical gears to transfer energy from the spinning wheels to make two parts of the toy move. #EHRoyalPride
