TEACHERS:1000’s of you work in schools that have been canceled in the upcoming weeks. Make it UR goal to either call every kid & say hi or write them a letter, telling them what you appreciate about them, recognize the strengths they bring to your classroom! #Significant72

As schools close for periods of time, don’t forget the profound impact a brief phone call home can have to simply show you care and how much they matter, especially for our most vulnerable and marginalized students.

Tips for #remotelearning : Encourage students to play around the house and outside (and not to stare at too many screens). Try to find a balance of assignments: some that can be completed online and others that can be done offline and turned in to you later.

Tips for #remotelearning : It's always better to over-communicate with our students, whether we're teaching new content or skills, assigning work, or defining our expectations.

Tips for #remotelearning : Discuss how assignments and participation will be graded. Describe your plans for how your online classroom will be run. Will you expect students to all meet online at the same time? Or will you be okay with asynchronous discussions?

THIS! Don't try to squeeze everything in. Pick what couple of things you think are really important. DEFINITELY do not focus on grading. Be present. Be flexible. #remotelearning
