This post led to some discussion about the difficulty of questions and the use of questions in context. I’ll try to summarise my view…

Examinations have many purposes (from workforce requirements, budget planning, future national services, etc), but in terms of schooling, I see

Misinformation & misdirection about what children are being taught in Primary Schools has led to a number of disruptive & dangerous protests since 2019.
Today’s spurious claims about what is being taught in Primary Schools will fuel division & potentially cause significant harm.

This is such a great clip of how targeted questioning and assessment can be done whilst ensuring all children are thinking and engaged with the content 👏 🙌 Great to see a primary example too!
