Disappointing breakout session on human dignity and inclusive societies at #AIforGood, monopolized by folks pitching the blockchain. The blockchain crowd is getting desperate because no one needs their tech. Be that as it may, but it is neither AI nor about dignity or inclusion

End of day 2 at the #AIforGood summit. Practical AI detection exercise using the Humoring test in a crowded elevator: "Any robots please exit the elevator now". Blank stares in response. As a human, I suddenly felt very alone

#AIforGood global summit has grown impressively. Thought-inspiring debates, all sharing the same urgency that reflects the incredible speed at which AI has come to affect everyone of us. Orgs like Translators without Borders (TWB) crucial to ensure all voices are heard in these debates. Literally.

AI fun with subtitle generation of WHO videos -- Microsoft Azure media analyzer blocks videos about breastfeeding. Where's the intelligence, please? (Stop staring at me, robot.) And also, aren't WHO and Bill Gates supposed to have some super secret evil…lnkd.in/dNNeSYRB

My team at the WHO Academy has received a translation where the word "sick" in "sick child" was systemically dropped. In a translation for the World Health Organization! Makes me feel ... sick?
