On the drawing board today

This is so cool. I thought it was just a photoshop effect at first, but she actually cut out little windows in her sketchbook.

I’ve been kind of stressed out and anxious lately so on Saturday I found a comic shop and treated myself to a good looking book.

For the past 30 days I’ve been waking up in the morning and drawing 9 heads before I do anything else. I draw from reference, whether that’s copying model sheets or photos. For years I thought I wasn’t good at drawing faces, but turns out I just hadn’t put in the reps.

The best thing about being a cartoonist is you can have an idea and in a month have a finished book in your hands. Here’s two I recently made, almost on a whim:
