This morning members from the #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils & I gave our ideas about St Ann’s Well Gardens in #Hove with Brighton & Hove City Council & St Ann's Well Gardens. We discussed lighting, navigation, signage, safety and how to make the park more #accessible to #blind and #PartiallySighted people.

I'm in #Brighton With the #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils this afternoon reviewing the position of a potential Beryl hub to check it doesn't impact on #Blind and #PartiallySighted people. Thanks to Brighton & Hove City Council for engaging with us on this. 👍👨‍🦯🚲

It was a small social gathering with the WestSussex Sight Loss Councils volunteers this evening in #Worthing. We chatted about our first half year and plans for 2024 as well as sharing funny stories about our vision impairments. 👨‍🦯🎄🎅

Disappointed with Compass Travel tonight. Bus no. 32 drove straight past whilst waiting at my bus stop. #Blind and #PartiallySighted people struggle to see a bus coming to flag them down. Sight Loss Councils are campaigning for request stops to be banned so buses stop if anyone’s waiting.

Just attended the #ArunValley @communityrail Network meeting at Gatwick Airport, representing #WestSussex Sight Loss Councils. We got to see and hear about the Gatwick Historic Timeline Exhibition by The Redhill Reigate Society. Really interesting! reigatesociety.org.uk/about/railway_…

🧑‍🦯 #EastSussex Sight Loss Councils delivered a simulation specs experience to Brighton & Hove City Council staff this afternoon. This was to raise awareness of the challenges #Blind and #PartiallySighted people face with navigating the built environment and how the attendees can help improve this.
