Another holiday done ✅ Something that never ceases to amaze me is the absolute state people leave their plane seat in when they get off.... Like walking through a literal land fill 🤦🏼‍♂️

A parent of a child I taught in Y2, 5 and 6 has just sent me a FB message request telling me the child passed all of his GCSES and they are so thankful for my part in that 😭😭😭 A child who has not had an easy school life. I am so proud of them 🥰

I've had withdrawal symptoms so have spent today decorating the office with corrugated border roll 🤣

The alarm is set, the bag is packed - term begins tomorrow! Despite being in post since January, I'm excited to be starting my first September as assistant head in my new school. Lots of excited new staff as we grow, and full speed ahead on school development 😍

Day 1 with the children back in. At 2:50pm the admin officer asked me why there was glitter all over my face. I did not know the answer. Happy autumn term in a primary school! 🤣

Yesterday, a Y1 child came to show me some amazing work. I asked him to read it to me. "Read it yourself" was the reply 🤣

Don't know about anyone else, but in lockdown 1 I had 2 children in my class. In lockdown 2, 28 children showed up... Parents also didn't realise we found out with them by watching the news, and many blamed us for harbouring 'unreleased info' and implementing last minute changes

Today I was in a meeting at one of the secondary schools in the Trust. During the 10 minutes of outside time during an unexpected fire evacuation, a bird 💩 all over my shoulder.This was mere moments before presenting to the CEO, heads and other trust leaders. How was your day?🤣

Pay👏🏼existing 👏🏼 teachers 👏🏼 more 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 more 👏🏼 experienced 👏🏼 they 👏🏼 are 👏🏼 It's so simple 😭 (Also pay support staff properly so we can actually have a functioning school!)

I was feeling a bit disengaged at having to load the dishwasher. Just completed a written test on how to place plates and bowls correctly in it and you’ll never guess what?! I’m loving doing it again! Anyone else feeling disengaged with something? Try a test!

Because the way to really engage the disengaged is to make them sit a test....?! 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️
