Pre-first day admin anxiety is not the same as teacher anxiety, but it's still a thing. Worrying that everything's in place to make it an easy Day 1 for students and staff is a lot!

One of the best things about DPSCommunityDistrict's PD day when you've been with the district for 24 years is running into numerous former colleagues, like it's a huge family reunion! So good for the soul!

When the A.P. declares a Lions Spirit Day, the A.P. must make sure he represents, RAYGUN attire included (I'm a true Detroit Liowan)! Fun fact: The Lions are 4-0 this year when @RalphBunchePrep has a Lions Spirit Day.

A teacher shared with me this week that she told a friend her AP (me) hasn't forgotten what it's like to be in the classroom. That, and wanting to set our teachers up for success so that our students get the best education possible have been my focus as an admin. I felt seen!

Greeted the first student at the door, who was half asleep, on the last day of school with a hearty "WOOOOOO!" Ended up having him jump about 2 feet in the air, but he's definitely awake now! 🤣

Tips if you're attending a teacher fair: 1. Make an effort to look professional. Shorts & a hoodie are not a good first impression. Make sure your look stands out for the RIGHT reason 2. Bring copies (not just a copy) of your resume to hand out.. Make sure it's updated. 1/
