Mags talked about ‘The medicine-related needs of older people with sensory impairment’. One of the best talks of the IPS Seminar Series.

Congratulations to the newest PhD graduate from Drug Discovery Research Lab KCL Dr Peiqin Jin who led a project on NFkB targeting PROTACss as cancer therapy, co-supervised by Chris Pepper and David Thurston. Thanks to Simon Mitchell and Robert Falconer for examining.

We are hosting Professor David Nutt from Imperial College London as part of School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences IPS seminar series today. David is giving an intriguing talk on the use of psychedelics as future treatments of brain disorders. Fascinating insights on psychedelics!!!

Hear from our group lead Prof Miraz Rahman about the threat posed by AMR, current research and what needs to happen across govt and industry to tackle this urgently.

This grant from LifeArc gives us the opportunity to develop our new efflux resistant antibiotics for treating infections associated with Cystic Fibrosis. It’s a joint project between King's College London and AD3, UKHSA.

Our new RSC Medicinal Chemistry paper led by Paolo Andriollo describes a new class of antibody drug conjugate payload that, in a pancreatic cancer model, drives complete tumour regression for 60 days after a single 2 mg/kg dose - outperforming 10 mg/kg Enhertu. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Prof Miraz Rahman, Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, has been elected as an Expatriate Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) This was for his significant contributions to scientific research. He is the first British Bangladeshi scientist to receive this fellowship 👏

Excited to share a new class of azole antifungals from our group that are effective against multidrug-resistant Candida auris. These efflux-resistant molecules exhibit broad-spectrum activity and are advancing towards preclinical development. Supported by UK Health Security Agency and NIAID News
