Day 1 of Reading Madness is in the books! 📚🏀 Mrs. Walton kicked off our tournament by reading Flat Cat and sharing about her love of reading — from her years as an English teacher to now owning her own wedding venue business! #hpsdawesome

Day 2 of reading madness!📚 Today’s guest reader was Paige Smeltzer, a registered nurse at Wellspan Hospital. We loved her book “Germs vs Soap” and hearing all about how reading has impacted her in her proffesion!🩺

Day 3 of Reading Madness flew by! 📚🐦 Dr. Abels joined us to read Someday a Bird Will Poop on You and shared how reading shaped his journey from English teacher to high school principal. It was a great reminder to push through adversity! 💪 #hpsdawesome

Day 4 of Reading Madness was out of this world! 👽📚 Mrs. Kessinger, our high school assistant principal, read Aliens Love Underpants and shared how reading helps her better understand, connect with, and support her students every day. #hpsdawesome

Reading Madness Day 5! 📚🎶 Mrs. Deb Smith, a former music teacher and YWCA employee, read The Struggle Bus and shared how reading has always been an integral part of her life and career in music! The book reminded us to always push through and persevere! 🎶 #hpsdawesome

Reading madness day 6!📚 We were very fortunate to have our behavior interventionist, Ms. Abel read What the Road Said and discuss how everyone’s road is different. We loved hearing about how reading has played such a huge role in her helping her students! #hpsdawesome

Reading madness day 7!📚 Today’s guest readers were Boden & Oliver who came to visit us from the high school! We got to hear all about how reading has helped them as students and athletes. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs was a great book!🐺 #hpsdawesome

Reading madness day 9!📚 We loved having a former HPSD student, Hannah Markle come in and read to us! We got to hear about how reading plays a huge role in her job as a scientist and the impact it played on her learning. Amazing mosquitos was a great book! #hpsdawesome

Reading Madness Day 11! 📚 Today we had TWO special guest readers: Lucy Peterman and her son Cade! She shared how reading helps her in her job as a licensed realtor and the importance of reading with her son. Creepy Pair of Underwear was a hit!
