Some great insights in this article about the very real resourcing issues around concussion management at community sport level. National & state organisations need to consider practical support if they are serious about effecting change.

'To prioritise athlete welfare, outdated attitudes need to change across Australia...Murphy’s retirement and acknowledgement of his long-term brain health is one sign the culture of valorising injury and risk may be changing.'

Great read with some helpful insights from my WN RAP colleague Jono Bredin on the new game management structure around dangerous play. Early days & everyone adjusting, but some strong decisionmaking thus far in ANZC setting the standard.

Agree - great leadership by NA in this space. Fantastic to see concrete action on player safety as the paramount concern in accordance with the new World Netball rules 👏👏

Marina Hyde is a consistently brilliant read, but this might be one of my favourites. The last paragraph in particular 🔥🔥🔥

Always enjoy Megan’s insights.
One thing seems clear moving forward - commercial acumen & outlook is certainly important for netball to progress, but neglecting relationships is fatal & trust, once broken, is very hard to mend.

Excited to finally launch these new rules and supporting resources for 2024, following a great collaboration between World Netball and the fabulous team at NETFIT New Zealand! Reflecting the evolution of our wonderful game and keeping it fast, skilful and safe for all.

Reflecting a lot on the awesomeness of our players this week & thought I’d share this memory from my FB timeline. Giants training 6 years ago. My kindy daughter’s class pet Snow posing with the team. Quite the treasure & made her day.
Great athletes but even better humans ❤️

All noise aside, Liz gets to the crux of the issue - given the loss of trust, confidence & goodwill in the direction netball is heading, can there be change without change? And it’s getting pretty desperate now. Sad for all of us who love the sport & want better for it.

As a mum of teenage girls, this really resonated - keeping them in sports for health, friendship & enjoyment rather than based on ability & achievement - also, how much more accepting we are of this for boys & men overall. So many implications for policy & strategy. Brava Emmy 👏
