Evil cannot create anything. It can only taint and coopt good things. Meaning that, in Christ, anything created by man has the potential to point us heavenward, however small that potential may be.

There's a decent amount of messaging out there implying that "speaking the truth" will make you hated by your enemies, but I think it's more important to be frustrating to your in-group. Keep 'em miffed.

Today I am 45.

Human beings are not simply whatever we chose to be, but we're much more than most people think we are, so we're at a time of great tension over our nature and identity.

Depending on how it was described, If you'd told 18 year old me what 45 would feel like, I might not have wanted it. I've opened up to my feelings, reduced the number of my propositional beliefs and, in many ways, I feel like a child. But I wouldn't go back to 18 for anything.

All experience is, in a way, an experience of truth. But experience is not the truth. Like scripture, it is layered and can be misused.

My memory is pretty bad so I accidentally assume other people don’t remember much about our times together. Then I feel bad when they remember things I can’t.
