Violet Helen Carson, OBE (born #OTD 1898, d 1983) was a British actress on radio, stage and tv, as well as being a singer and a pianist, a great early 20thcentury performer. And long-term resident and moral arbiter of #CoronationStreet, as caretaker of the Glad Tidings Mission.

Just as a matter of interest, John Peel, DJ, journo, presenter, born 1939, died 2004 in Cusco, Peru. Cusco is a city notable for an 18thC painting of The Last Supper, in the Cathedral – what were they eating? Unmistakably a tasty cuy (guinea pig).
