We just released the to date most comprehensive analysis of Frankendancer vs. Agave. (1) In short, the future is bright. (2) In more detail, vote- and non-vote transaction inclusion is up, due to better networking and scheduler. This means more valuable blocks; more stable

Key overlooked proposition of DoubleZero: "[txs] are expected to be traceable so that users can verify their inclusion [...]" Framed as censorship resistance, that's valid. But main implication is that CEX<>DEX arbitrageurs can reduce their risk margin. -> Block value goes up.

New Monad consensus update is nice and prob. points to a good networking layer brewing. Some ~quick conjectures - Currently, if a leader times out, the network reorgs the validator preceding it as well. The reason is that the timed out leader would have failed to aggregate a

Another MonadBFT revamp upside- Previously, if a a validator proposed before an unreliable proposer, it ran a reorg risk. This reduces it's block value even in the happy path, as arbitrageurs would price in the risk of a reorg leaving them holding the bag (i.e. inventory).

Cool read on DEX design, with veiled fees to counter impermanent loss. Hinders CEX<>DEX arbitrageurs from pricing the CEX-leg of the trade against such an AMM. Best strat. is likely to arb any other liquid on-chain AMM and then follow with an atomic arb against the veiled AMM.

Next week concludes my three fantastic years at Chorus One - I'm now focused on building something new, with friends. More on that soon. Appreciate the good work and fun times, and walk easily knowing the research team is in great hands with @kambenbrik and Umberto | Mostly Data 🧙‍♂️.

ZuBerlin was the best conference I attended last year. Good, small group, and focused discussions. Looking forward to swinging by again.

Relays are powerful infra: 1. Last look on all PBS bids. 2. Last look on all non-optimistic blocks. 3. Trusted by design. => There are ways to improve Ethereum without new complexity. => Can be done with simple and transparent rules. => rILs are a first step, doable today.

A fave aspect of living in Switzerland: The ~100 page annual report the municipality sends every resident. In addition to financials, ours includes local stats. Most surprising is the ratio of poisonous vs edible mushrooms found regionally. Accountability unparalleled.

Sumo wrestling is a highly underrated spectator sport. Found it on the hotel TV during Devcon and have followed it since. Give it a try for the May grand tournament kicking off this Sunday.

Multiverse Finance: (1) Likely generates native yield that scales positively with volume. (2) LPs are likely profitable in the Multiverse ;) Recommended original read: x.com/_dave__white_/…

A great application I've found for LLMs is asking them to grade what I've written. They're strong at finding aspects that would not be clear to a reader. It's a way of benefiting from LLMs without creating slop / losing your style. Use them as a test reader, not a writing aid.

Presented Relay Inclusion Lists (rILs) in the FOCIL breakout call today. rILs improve Ethereum's censorship resistance fast and simply. It's doable today. Recording & research post: - youtube.com/watch?v=0clvpS… - ethresear.ch/t/relay-inclus… Merci for the discussion soispoke.eth

Shout to mikeneuder.eth ⟠ for suggesting rILs in 2023: ethresear.ch/t/resistance-i… Now is a good time to tackle it. Size/gas adjusting txs helps proposer incentive compatibility. Then once multiple relays run rILs, the path to larger sizing is wide open. Building it as we speak
