Our kennels are less than 15 minutes from Mississippi State’s campus, and Coach Leach loved to come by, tell stories with Bill and visit our dogs. He adopted an old female, Keira, who’d been with him since last summer. (1/2)

We have plenty of young dogs who look fit for field trial championships, but Mike wanted Keira, whose breeding days were behind her and would never retrieve any ducks but would be a loving companion. Us and all of our dogs will miss you, Coach. (2/2)

Our office is less than 20 miles from Mississippi State, and we were lucky enough to call Mike Leach a friend after he moved to Starkville. Sharing the turkey woods with him was as enjoyable as you’d expect for a man with legendary curiosity for all things including the outdoors.

On the day Mike Leach was memorialized, yet another touching story that tells you all you need to know about the master of the Air Raid offense. Leach gave a whole hell of a lot more than he took in life.

The memory of Bob Dixon is woven into the fabric of Mossy Oak, and today would've been his 66th birthday. Bob passed away in 2003 from cancer. An instant old friend to everyone he shared camp with, his spirit is kept alive every time we step into the woods. We miss you, Bob.

Today, let us remember those who gave that last full measure of devotion in service of our nation and its ideals. We are humbled by the sacrifices of so many, known and unknown, in defense of liberty. Courage and love the likes of which most of us will never know.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones and friends. We’ll never be able to repay you except to go on living like those whose freedom, here on earth and eternally, has been purchased at an incredibly high cost. Grateful doesn’t begin to describe it.
