Yesterday the Fuller inquiry called on the govt to urgently launch a regulator to tackle the abuse of dead people within the funeral sector. Responding to this news, Nevres Kemal, whose daughter Azra was a victim of mortuary abuse, said, ‘no one cares about the dead’. 1/7

To care well, we need to treat the living & the dead as people. We need to put this work on the pedestal it deserves, recruiting great people & training them properly. We need to demonstrate that this works matters, to value it & to see it for what it is: caring for people. 5/7
