Hit sitcom Two's Company starring Elaine Stritch & Sir Donald Sinden first aired this day in 1975. It regularly attracted audiences of 17 million. It was a bucket list moment for me to reunite the stars one last time for a charity event at Pinewood Studios in 2002.
Morris Bright MBE Remember it well. Thankfully the many millions who tuned in to watch this kid try & fill Terry's boots took to the character immediately & by end of the first episode normal service had been resumed. I will be ever grateful to the audience & fans of Minder for being so kind❤👊👍
After a busy and up and down old week I've taken myself out to the West End to see Hello Dolly at the magnificent The London Palladium before it finishes next weekend. Only bought ticket a couple of days ago after recommendations. Let's see.
Barbara Streisand played Dolly Levi in the film Hello Dolly when she was 27. Imelda Staunton is playing Dolly Levi on stage at The London Palladium aged 58 and boy did she just knock it out of the park. Stunning nuanced performance. And the voice! Wow! Bravo to the whole cast & crew.
Here's Dick Van Dyke visiting the set of Carry On Up the Khyber in 1968 while making Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on an adjacent lot Pinewood Studios. Sid James died in 1976 aged 62 and Roy Castle in 1994 also aged 62. Dick's had an extra 50% and still going strong in 2024. Wonderful.
It's a head, heart and bum decision Robin Askwith. My heart says one thing, my head another and if I get this wrong you'll kick me up the arse!
Sad to hear actor and writer Kenneth Cope has died, aged 93. A long and varied both big and small screen career. Here hanging about during takes while filming Randall and Hopkirk Deceased Elstree Studios in 1969.
