We are pleased to announce that on May 28, 2023, we will be celebrating not only a Free Kids Fishing Derby but also our 95th anniversary! For 95 years, we have been dedicated to promoting education, conservation, and community projects. (Since 1928)

Today we had Bras d’Or Elementary school, (Mr. Lane’s) class release the trout fry from the fish friends program. They took part in learning about the life cycle of the speckled trout. Thanks to NS Fisheries/Aquaculture @NS_DNRR for all the assistance from park use to trout eggs.

Due to the wildfire situation, all fishing derbies and other events to promote the free fishing weekend planned for Saturday-Sunday, June 3-4 are cancelled.

Anglers are encouraged to stay home and stay safe this weekend. We will look at other opportunities to promote sportfishing and its benefits at a later time.
