Contrary to AI slop pessimism, I think AI could lead to much higher quality software: fewer bloated/outdated dependencies, more compile-time error handling, extensive testing everywhere. Your AI agent can fight the borrow checker for hours.

The biggest reason to work at a FAANG in your 20s is compounding interest. You can save up a sizeable nest egg and then just let it ride while pursuing startups. Ex. If you can bank $250k into your 401k by 25, you never need to save for retirement again.
