Fond of leaves in books and autumn leaves. On occasion a tad over-enthusiastic. Coffee is often to blame. Archive conservator @UoYBorthwick (all views my own)

Lesson learnt. When experiencing full toddler meltdown, don't try and explain why glue isn't going to fix the broken plastic toy, or what adhesives might if we had them in the house.

Serendipitous trip to the stacks this morning. One unassuming book and then... BOOM! Manuscript waste! Deckle edge! Thoughtful yet discreet repairs! #charming #bookbinding

Sticky situation…heat from a marvellous mini hair drier softening adhesive from decades old masking tape. The drawings are from the 70s - the tape may well be too! #paperconservation Historic Scotland Historic Environment Scotland #archives

Been having fun playing with time-lapse in the PRONI conservation studio! The paper was repaired with re-moistenable tissue but losses were replaced with Kayazuki paper and wheat starch paste. D2977/5/1/2/26 is a copy of a court order from the Four Courts, Dublin in 1657.

I've had a quiet year so far on Twitter, mainly because I've been growing a tiny human. Littlest is hopefully arriving soon, so I'm planning a complete break for the next year. But I wanted to say that I'll be back for more conservation shenanigans in late 2023 🍼🖌️🚼📜👶

Archive joy - think you're checking out potential mould on a new accession and discover lovely marbling on teeny tiny books 😍 (and mould too).

Had the absolute pleasure of working on this chapbooks exhibition with my fab colleague Sarah, which is launching tonight 🤩 if you're in the library at York Uni over the next few months come up to the gallery on the second floor of the Burton to take a look!
