It’s been a long hard day but it’s the images of desecrated Muslim graves in Burnley that have got me. To my fellow journalists: if you’re not using the words racism or Islamophobia in your reports, you’re not telling the story. And you must ask yourself why that is. Night x
My family in Burnley are heartbroken at desecration of Muslim graves, as we all are. My aunt has said how scared she is and my 12 year old nephew (cousin’s son) has shared his fear about our family being hurt by far-right racists. My cousin says “he’s very scared.” #RaceRiots
If you want a fast track (sorry for the pun) primer on where the UK is now re white supremacy and the far right and how it got here, this is outstanding work by Daniel Trilling.
WFTV Women in Film & TV (UK) have sent out the most comprehensive link to anti-racism resources I've yet to find online. Check it out here and bookmark it. Fight the fash wftv.org.uk/anti-racism-hub
Hi Kim Komando - I've recently received an email with a "proposal request" with "Job #: AR-SHE-230227.08_Sunny_Builders_Corp" as the ref from a colleague. I emailed back. The reply didn't sound like the person who attached to that email address. Can confirm it's a #phishing scam.
A friend told me that Sainsbury's are now selling mince pies. In August. Any other non-British immigrants on here think that they were savoury, meat-filled pies when they first moved to the UK? #micepie #Christmas
