This will be the final season for longtime and highly-successful Perrysburg Athletics girls soccer coach Jorge Diaz, who has a 209-40-29 record in 14 seasons. Diaz helped lead the Yellow Jackets to 11 NLL titles, a state title in 2012 and three final 4 appearances. Terrific person!

Jorge Diaz was co-head coach with Margaret Bernard when Perrysburg won the state title in 2012. They went 23-0 to become the 1st girls soccer program from northwest Ohio to win a state title. They were led by forward Maddy Williams, who became an All-American at Purdue.

Longtime assistant coach Alden Hirschfeld, a Northview graduate, is leaving the Toledo Walleye organization after six seasons behind the bench to pursue new opportunities outside of hockey. Hirsch is a former captain who played 5 seasons for the Walleye. A true class act.

Hirschfeld ranks 9th in Toledo Walleye history in games played (200), 9th in points (153), and 8th in goals scored (59). Toledo qualified for the playoffs every season with Hirschfeld behind the bench — Kelly Cup Finals three times (2019, 2022, and 2025). toledoblade.com/sports/walleye…
