City of Troy in the paddock ahead of his racecourse gallop. I somewhat doubt Southwell’s parade ring has ever been so busy. Three rows deep in places!

Galloping to the line in splendid isolation to the applause of the crowd. Probably the last time we’ll ever see City Of Troy in public in Europe. Next stop - California!

What a thrill to see City Of Troy today! So many people came out, not attracted by gimmicks, music, betting etc - but for the love of the horse and the chance to see equine perfection in the flesh. Thanks to Ballydoyle and Southwell Racecourse for making it happen!

I had the most enjoyable day shadowing Simon Holt at Brighton y’day ahead of Royal Ascot next week. It was so kind of him to let me see the work that goes in to the art of calling races - I’m very grateful. I’m tempted to learn colours for a race tomorrow and give it a go!
