Spasmodics 115-4 (20 overs) Mollington 116-2 (15.2 overs) A couple of wickets for Mike Lewis followed by some rapid opening batting from Mollington. Swapnil retired on 30, Geoffrey Bibby likewise on 25. It was left to Malcolm Sibson to steer the team home with an unbeaten 23.

Our match is OFF on Tuesday 20 July v Carmel's Old Boys. Unfortunately we are unable to raise a team. It's that time of year. Our players would rather go on family holidays than play cricket.

At last, Mollington CC are back on Twitter. After two successive defeats we're in for some Midsummer Night frolics versus OTC

Unfortunately Mollington are in a losing habit. We restricted OTC to 128-5 off 20 overs (Peter Bibby 2-22, Paul Nicholson 1-9). In reply, our scoring was too slow and we only managed a meagre 81-7 (Mike Lewis 21, Malcolm Sibson 20 not out).

Change of venue for this evening's game v The Ship Victory. We are now playing at Chester County Sports grounds, just off Mannings Lane ..... weather permitting 🏏☔️🤞

A high scoring game by our standards resulting in a 31 run loss. The Ship Victory 165-1 (20 overs) Mollington 134-4 (20 overs) Retirement scores for Geoffrey Bibby, Chris Taylor, Charlie Bibby and Graham Atkin. Not quite enough back-up within the ranks though.

Well. You wait absolutely ages for a heatwave and a Mollington cricket victory and then the two come along at the same time. Mollington 144-3 The Ship Victory 133-1 Excellent retirement scores of 25 by Geoffrey Bibby, Mark Taylor and Seamus Wild. Malcolm Sibson on 23 not out.

Strange times. I can only put it down to global warming. Mollington's cricket team won again! MC 131-4 (20 overs) Spasmodics 114-7 (20 overs)

An exciting finish at Burton this evening. Mollington almost succeeded in defending a low score of 101. Burton passed the target with only 2 balls remaining. A standout performance from Andy Craft - 43 runs, 2 catches and a run out. Just don't mention his bowling!

Last ball drama as Mollington beat Spasmodics. Dave Evans hit a six off the penultimate ball to tie the scores. A single off the last ball was just enough. Evans 33 not out, James Dowell 31 not out and Mike Lewis 38 were the main contributors to the Mollington total of 151-8.

Here's a Mollington statistic for you ... Tuesday evening's target of 151 was the highest we have successfully chased in midweek cricket. Our second highest ever Burton made 192-7 off 40 overs in 2009 and we won by 6 wickets. Toby scored 78 that day, Strachan 35, Mark Taylor 30

Double disappointment in the cricket this evening. Mollington matched England's Ashes defeat by losing to OTC. OTC 133 for 6 off 22 overs. MCC 107 for 6. We didn't play badly. Batters just couldn't penetrate the ring of fielders. Well done OTC.
