Today, we welcomed the new Deputy Minister Mohamed Adan Mohamed (Baydhabo Janaay) to the Monitoring and Evaluation Department. We shared our 2024 achievements and priorities with him. The DM pledged to inject new energy, ideas, and direction into the Department’s work.

Today, we presented a report to the Minister, Deputy Minister, and State Minister outlining M&E achievements, upcoming plans, monitoring findings, the NDP-9 endline evaluation, and progress reporting 4 the NTP. The Ministers commended the work and pledged their full support.

I had a fruitful meeting with ministers from the #SSCKhaatumo Administration at MoPIED. We discussed advancing development projects in SSC regions, their role in implementation of the National Transformation Plan (#NTP2025_2029), & enhancing institutional collaboration.

We have safely arrived in Laascaanood, the capital of SSC-Khaatumo. We’ve commenced a week-long program featuring the 6th meeting of the National Technical M&E Working Group, along with a high-level training focused on progress tracking and results reporting for the NTP.

#Laascaanood hosts a high-level training for Directors of Monitoring & Evaluation from FGS and FMS planning ministries. The training, led by international experts, strengthens national M&E capacity for #NTP2025_2029 tracking and results reporting.

Today in Laascaanood, I joined the ABC Coordination Meeting to strengthen collaboration on ongoing projects and reaffirm the Federal Government’s commitment to effective local partnerships and results-based planning.

Today, I joined the National Consultative Meeting on the 7th EAC Development Strategy (2026/27–2030/31). As Somalia joins the EAC, this is a key step in aligning national goals with regional priorities and promoting integration and shared progress.

I chaired the 6th National Monitoring and Evaluation Committee meeting in Lascanood with members from Federal MS. We focused on advancing the national M&E system, including policy implementation, staff training, and NTP progress tracking. Thanks to SSC-Khaatumo for hosting

Held a productive meeting with Mogadishu University to advance collaboration on training, research, and rollout of the National Evaluation Curriculum. The university’s commitment to strengthening national M&E capacity is commendable.

We paid a productive working visit to SIMAD University, where we met with President Dr. Abdikarim to discuss collaboration on the National Evaluation Curriculum, capacity building, and research. SIMAD, produced 37% of Somalia’s research last year a remarkable achievement

2/ Discussions focused on enhancing research, national curriculum implementation, and skills development in monitoring & evaluation (M&E). Both universities played a leading role in developing Somalia’s National Evaluation Curriculum.

Today in Mogadishu, I presented at the Joint Data and Statistics Forum on leveraging data for M&E, and strategic alignment with Somalia’s NTP. The forum focused on national priorities, addressing data gaps, supporting NSDS II, building a unified, modern data system for Somalia.
