Pleased to address young musicians, & meet the iconic musician The Elephant Man, at the #WorldIPDay by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Nigeria. He is an inspiration to many. Music, art & culture are drivers of #SDGs. Let's protect the rights of creators to foster inclusive economic dev't in #Nigeria. #SDG17

Glad to share my thoughts at the Interagency Dialogue on Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) organized by UNODC Nigeria. TOC poses a significant threat to the work of every United Nations agency; undermines our collective efforts across various sectors; & impedes our achievement of #SDGs.

Advancing #SDGs requires robust partnerships & strong institutions. Delighted to co-convene with Gautier Mignot a United Nations Nigeria-EU in Nigeria 🇪🇺🇳🇬 partnership dialogue to strengthen collaboration & ensure efficiency in delivering on our shared values & priorities to support Government of Nigeria.

The United Nations Country team United Nations Nigeria walks the talk when it comes to the issue of women's access to good health and wellbeing #SDG3. Delighted to be joined by UN Women Nigeria Representative in #Nigeria, Beatrice Eyong to launch the Women’s Wellness Center in the UN Clinic #Abuja. #SDG5

At the launch of #Nigeria’s 2025 Voluntary National Review #VNR, I noted: #SDGs are not on track & we only have less than 5 years left. We must work harder & faster to fulfil the promise of #LeaveNoOneBehind. United Nations Nigeria is fully committed to supporting Government of Nigeria VNR process.

Happy Workers' Day! Decent work for all remains the pillar of #SDG8, aiming to promote sustainable economic growth, full & productive employment. United Nations Nigeria through ILO Abuja stands committed to supporting Government of Nigeria to achieve #DecentWork for all in #Nigeria.

Glad to join the Nat'l Dialogue on Business & #HumanRights. I commend Government of Nigeria for its efforts to prevent & address biz-related #humanrights abuses. United Nations Nigeria is committed to the vision—where businesses uphold human rights while driving Sustainability.

Delighted to welcome SRSG-VAC United Nations SRSG on Violence against Children, Dr Najat Maalla M'jid to #Nigeria. Timely visit at this period #women & #children are mostly impacted by socio-economic crises, including protection challenges & conflicts. United Nations Nigeria is committed to advancing children's well-being.

With Hon. Minister Nentawe G. Yilwatda Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs we launched the 2025 Lean Season Plan. I called for solidarity despite reduced humanitarian financing. With 4.6m+ pple at risk of hunger & 280,000 children at risk of death from malnutrition in #Borno #Adamawa & #Yobe, early action is vital.

Proud to lead the United Nations Country Team to d 2025 retreat on Repositioning for Impact in a Changing Dev't Landscape. Glad 2 see the team focusing on how to improve efficiency aligned with local needs, support Government of Nigeria to improve domestic financing & leverage emerging best practices

In closing the 2-day United Nations Country Team retreat, I reaffirmed the United Nations Nigeria's commitment to greater efficiency in its support to Government of Nigeria in accelerating #SDGs through the 6 transition pathways & improving the well-being of Nigerians, leaving no one behind. #Agenda2030

So heart-warming to receive the grt news of the appointment of my brother & colleague, & one of the finest epidemiologists, Chikwe Ihekweazu as the head of World Health Organization (WHO) #Health Emergencies Prog. It shows the world values your work. A pride for #Nigeria & #Africa. Congratulations! #SDG3

At the UNFPA Nigeria - Australian High Commission, Abuja 🇦🇺 event, I noted, "No society can claim to be just if persons with disabilities are excluded, or if young pple cannot make informed decisions about their bodies & futures. Let's support young pple with action, investment, & unshaken belief."

On this Int'l Day of Peacekeepers, I thank the Government of Nigeria for its continued participation in UN Peacekeeping, saving countless lives beyond its borders. I salute the many Nigerian contingents who have served with distinction across #Africa #Asia #Europe & the #Americas.

It’s 77 years of UN Peacekeeping. Glad to join DEFENCE HQ NIGERIA to celebrate the iconic #BlueHelmet, a symbol of service, sacrifice & hope. Since 1960, 200,000+ Nigerian troops, police & civilians have served in 41 United Nations, African Union & Ecowas - Cedeao missions. Kudos to Government of Nigeria!

I am deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of at least 100 people in Mokwa, Niger State, due to floods. United Nations Nigeria extends its condolences to the affected families & Niger State Government. I commend the efforts of NEMA Nigeria & other responders. United Nations stands ready to support the response.
