I’ve been stuck in my house for months b/c my leg & hip (& mobility) keeps getting worse, so I want to thank Liisa Kovala for driving me to a quiet writing weekend on the French River. Thnx to Liisa & Dinah Laprairie, too, for the retreat, and Alex Ross & his staff for their help

I think I was in my element talking spiritual life writing, memoir as art, and being the children of immigrants with acclaimed Winnipeg author and all around lovely human being, Linda Trinh. I’m writing an essay about Patti Smith’s work, and so I’m re-reading. I read this in a day, but I’ll take it day by day, much more slowly, starting on January 1. This one is a beautiful book to buy and keep on a bookshelf. Let it take up the space it deserves. Gorgeous! ❤️📚
