Today, 10 innovative ideas by young and early career researchers from #IamAPHRC were shared. Though 9 of 10 good ideas were not directly related to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, I randomly posed the question, What does it mean for #FLN. Their responses were amazing.

My colleague Dancan Owaga's pipeline idea was on improving efficiency of waste management through GIS routing. So what's there for #FLN ... environmental awareness concepts can be introduced in #earlylearning and be part of reading text.

I also visited Peterrock and Rita Karoki et al. innovative idea on training in research ethics. Research ethics are critical #FLN for collection and analysis of credible data to NOT (miss)inform #FLN decisions especially scaling what works.

This amazing digital tool by Rachel Adhiambo et al. on mental health and HIV positive youth has implications for #FLN Young people have young children that need #FLN support.

Optimising ECD outcomes including #learningOutcomes can benefit from a multisectoral approach, and #FLN should be a the center of this. My colleague George Owino of #IamAPHRC is on it with this innovative idea on how this can be done.
