doi.org/10.1038/s41598… New paper out!🥳🥳🥳We used a unique body part matching-to-sample task on touchscreens, and found that chimpanzees can match the same body part across chimp body images, even for images of different individuals, suggesting their body/biological knowledge.

hooray, the "Bayesian Models of Cognition" book is out, for all your Bayesian models of cognition needs :) (I contributed to 3 chapters in the book -- development, intuitive physics, theory of mind -- that can be read on the ol' website)

Here's the latest addition to Cambridge Elements in Philosophy of Mind series: Rory Madden on Personal Identity and the Self. I think it's by far the best short introduction to the topic. And for two weeks, it's free to download! cambridge.org/core/elements/…? #cambridgeelements

We are delighted to finally share our work on the definition of a computational approach to quantify motor distance, building on the Procrustes transformation. We hope this will be of help to all colleagues who need to estimate similarity between movements google.com/url?q=https://…

Apropos of never ending discussions about whether ANNs are "good" models of the nervous system, here is a slide I present to masters students showing a network that is found in motor control circuits *across phyla* (that's pretty ubiquitous!) I ask them to guess what it does...

OMG, I want to live in this article! Spiegehalter puts in words exactly how I approach probability: it doesn't exist as an objective measure, but it's still useful to pretend it does. In a way, it feels like Calibrated Bayes, my favorite kind of Bayesian!

There's a shocking fact about AI that nobody tells you: You can catch up to the public AI research frontier in just 2 weeks. Yes, really. I've built a $150M annual revenue startup over the last 8 years and If I were to start a company today, I’d drop everything and go all-in on

New Anthropic research: Persona vectors. Language models sometimes go haywire and slip into weird and unsettling personas. Why? In a new paper, we find “persona vectors"—neural activity patterns controlling traits like evil, sycophancy, or hallucination.
