Research Introductions took a summer break, but it's back with Zoomposium #7. Join us on 3/9/20 to hear from new researchers, and about new activities in the College of Science and Engineering. Email [email protected] to register. All UofG staff welcome.
In our new paper in FINEL authors.elsevier.com/a/1bmP0,3rlei2… we studied what happens when you drop a steel weight on a concrete beam. Led by Joosef Leppänen at Chalmers Chalmers. We used our damage plasticity model #CDPM2 for the 3D FE analyses. Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre James Watt School of Engineering, Uni. of Glasgow Materials & Manufacturing Research Group
📢 Our #materials #seminar series continues with Dr Andrew Feeney and will focus on material challenges for #ultrasonics! Pre-registration required at materials-glasgow.org/seminars, meeting details will be emailed on Thu for a 13:00 BST start on Friday, October 9th.
Looking for a PhD project? Dr Mohamad Fotouhi is looking for 🇬🇧/🇪🇺 applicants for two projects on #composites! Find out more information at materials-glasgow.org/join-us SciEng Grad School James Watt School of Engineering, Uni. of Glasgow
Home/EU students or self-funded international students only Apply for a PhD on "High Performance Bio-Inspired Composite Structures". This is the way forward lighter, stronger and greener structures! Email: [email protected] gla.ac.uk/schools/engine…

I am really pleased to be invited to present my research on fracture as a plenary lecture at the 2nd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NOTCH MECHANICS. 2isnm.unican.es/programme/ Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre James Watt School of Engineering, Uni. of Glasgow
Our concrete model #CDPM2 was used recently in OOFEM (oofem.org): doi.org/10.1016/j.engs… commercial code LSDYNA doi.org/10.1080/157324… and ABAQUS doi.org/10.1016/j.engs… Great to see it in different programs Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre James Watt School of Engineering, Uni. of Glasgow Materials & Manufacturing Research Group
A 3D-printed, lightweight material developed at James Watt School of Engineering, Uni. of Glasgow is stronger than similar forms of aluminium. It could lead to safer, lighter, and more durable bodies for cars and the aerospace industry. Read more here 👉 gla.ac.uk/news/headline_…
