Furthermore, this case highlights how the law is weaponized and eagerly unleashed specifically to punish members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Second, there are glaring double standards at play. It has NOT escaped our notice that heterosexual personalities and comedians continue to regularly make a mockery of Christ and other religious symbols as 'comedy' and yet none of them has suffered what PLV is going through.

to the recent criminal complaints filed against Vice Ganda, Ion Perez, and Toni Fowler, to anti-discrimination legislation being blocked through technicalities both in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Luka has suffered a spate of condemnation from the public, as well as constant media attention.

There is a glaring pattern of abuse in the ways the law continues to be weaponized against the LGBTQI+ community, from the mountain of cases lodged against Luka,

or the non-establishment clause of the Constitution. This law must be repealed or declared unconstitutional.

The double standard weaponized against Luka is clear. While other faith-based impersonators continue to freely create and publish content,

in Quezon City and were recently summoned by the National Bureau of Investigation for a complaint filed by CIBAC party-list’s Eddie Villanueva.

We question the existence of a law that entangles government with religion, in violation of the separation of church and state
