So very sad to hear this news. It was so exciting to work at this once vital daily newspaper after graduating from Carleton J-School back when newspapers were alive and well. It changed my life. What a loss to the city of Whitehorse

It was an honour to be part of this again this year and an inspiration to see, read and watch such great examples of outstanding journalism.

Truly joyous event @jschool_cu awarding the first Leonard Shifrin and Louise Dulude Canadian Social Policy Emerging Reporter Fund grant to graduating student Ali Al-Ashoor. He will use the fund to report on how AI tools distort Indigenous experience and what can be done about it.

I went to Winnipeg to see Murray Sinclair in assisted living earlier this year. There, he conducted his final interview. We also went to Selkirk and he showed me where he grew up. It was the culmination of a decade of trust building. Story here: theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic… #cdnpoli

Tonight, I’m thinking about Justice Murray Sinclair and of the times that I was lucky enough to hear him speak about his work with the TRC. This moment stands out for me. It’s his answer when he was asked, “Why can’t you just get over it?”
