Amendment to raise the budget halfway through quadrennium passes. I voted against and don’t believe it is a good idea.

The budget debate demonstrated something surprising and refreshing. Good faith people with differing perspectives actually reached something of a compromised. And everyone likes each other after. Hopeful.

FA just passed an amendment to raise the apportionment base rate effectively raising the general church budget $40.6 million dollars. I was against it and don’t think this arbitrary raising of the budget is a good idea.

Day 2 of General Conference. Opening worship, Bishop Laura Merrill presiding and Bishop Holston giving the episcopal address. Also, the volume is working.

And just a reminder, if a seemingly small raise in your local church apportionment payment is “no big deal” you can always give more than what’s required to help keep connectional ministries funded!

Amended budget passes. We got there! For those following at home, we basically passed the GCFA and connectional table budget (base rate for apportionments) with the amendment that if our collection rate hits 90% we will increase budget last two years

Currently debating the apportionment base rate for which essentially is “the budget”. We are debating between a lower base rate proposed by gcfa & a higher base rate amended by Financial Comm here. The difference is $40.6 million dollars that would come from local church
