As a WVU grad with a degree in French, as a language teacher, I am appalled. So much for “the faculty, staff and students at West Virginia University commit to creating a diverse and inclusive culture that advances education” … to current students, I am sorry wvu failed you.

Not to mention…. “by leading transformation in West Virginia and the world through local, state and global engagement.” Good luck with that global engagement when your students cannot take a world language.

Absolutely devastating for all staff who are going to lose their jobs but World Language seems to be the one of the only departments being completely eliminated. An entire department.
