That brings me to..ignoring a hook, why would you turn down the gift of RP someone is offering you? Loads of reasons; you didn't see it for hours, you are not in the place where the hook RPs you, you are busy IRL, ect. Remember a hook is an offer not a obligation.

Now we get to the part where I talk about exceptions. There are times when you can "sortof" force actions on other players. This is when you have been given proxy by the other player they trust you enough to run their character when they are not around.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

A good example of this are the interactions of @mlp_North Fox Print and Keylime Star. They trust each other to know how each other would react so their hooks go deeper and can set up sillier scenes.

It gets back to the trust issue, the more trust ponies have in you the more you can get away with..So that is me talking about Hooks. Anypony have nay questions about hooks or other RP related things...the floor is open.

Hello Ponies and pony adjacent creatures. Today we are going to talk about Bad Actors...no this isn't about the captain of a beloved science fiction show. This is about trolls (it's the nicest word I can come up with for them) in the RP.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sometimes you will come across someone in TP who is not here to have fun with everyone else. They are here because they find it amusing to "mess with people." How can we Love and tolerate these people..to be frank *puts on the Frank Hat.* We don't.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

But that goes against what the fandom is about some people cry. Not really, those people who are just here to mess with the TP players are not part of the fandom. They haven't watched the show and took it's lessons of kindness and support of your friends to heart.

So what do you do when someone shows up and starts harassing you? Well first ask them to stop it. Just because they are bad mannered oafs doesn't mean you have to be. But then go up to those three dots at the top of their tweet and select mute.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Why mute, why not block? Mutes are invisible to the muted person. Often when these people are blocked they just create a new twitter account and come at you from there. This prevents them from being fake outraged that you won't hold a discourse with them.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Now you have muted them..let them be don't post a scree in the feed ..if you must vent about them take it to an ooc account or just talk to your fiends in DMs. these trolls just want attention if they know they made you upset they are happy. Don't let them be happy.

And after a few days...then go in and block them. They will probably not be checking for the block by then and you get the added protections that a block gives you.

This is one of those situational things. If say they are playing a show character and you prefer another player's interpretation of that character. You don't get to make that call. Everyone is free to play their TP account in a manner they enjoy.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

But you say that violates; Story canon, my favorite fanfic, my head canon.. It's okay all of that still exist. Them having fun doesn't stop you from having fun on your own.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

As Prof. Pinkie Pie says Fun is not a finite resource, it grows exponentially the more ponies involved, silly. Then she would gigglesnort an offer you a cupcake.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Now where this crosses a line is when they start insisting you RP their way. Just as they get to choose what is fun for them you get to choose what is fun for you.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We want everyone playing TP to get along and all have fun together but we understand that people don't all like the same things. This is why we have guidelines not rules (our only rule is in fact, Have fun.)

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So and here is the last category of bad actors... Just that their RP is bad this usually means they are new. So what do you do about this? You help them. Pull them into a dm, show them the wiki, point them at this account, and just show them great rp.

Role Play Guide (@mlp_rpguide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Sometimes all someone needs is a bit of help. We were all new at some point, we all made mistakes, and we all were helped by someone. Helping each other out is the most pony thing you can do in TwitterPonies. So thank you all for listening & if anypony has any questions just ask.
