Katie Gehrand, a returning ambassador, thought that basketball was her main sport until she went out for cross country in high school and discovered her love of running. Now, she has over 60 marathons under her belt. Her goal is to run a marathon in every state!

Roy Pirrung is no stranger to the MKE running community. This is his 2nd year as an Ambassador, and he has competed the LFM 30 times. Roy is a national champion and record holder, as well as a member of both the USATF's Masters and the American Ultrarunning Hall of Fames.

Today we welcome another LFM Ambassador veteran. Arun Sarkar, whose first marathon was the Lakefront, has now run over 75 marathons and ultras. As someone who only started running 8 years ago, this is an impressive number. His advice? "Start easy. Build a proper base first."

Last, but certainly not least, we introduce our final 2020 Ambassador. Mary Bolich is a former LFM champion and a constant presence as a Masters podium finisher. She's been running for 40+ years, and loves to run on country roads where there are rolling hills and little traffic.

We are less than 3 months out! And while we don’t know exactly what October 4th will look like, our team is planning for an epic race whether live, virtual or somewhere in between. Details and a final decision for this year’s event will be shared in the next few weeks.
