The newly appointed Deputy Chief of Defense Forces Lt Gen Sam Okiding has taken over office from Lt Gen Peter Elwelu at a ceremony presided over by the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba . 
The handover/takeover ceremony happened at the UPDF general headquarters in Mbuya.

Today in the afternoon have supervised a handover/takeover ceremony of some senior officers at Mbuya today.I asked the current teams to aim for excellence so that those who come after will appreciate their achievements.

Afande CDF and SPA/SO - Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba oversaw the official handover ceremony as Lt Gen Sam Okiding assumed the role of Deputy Chief of Defense Forces, succeeding Lt Gen Peter Elwelu at the UPDF general headquarters in Mbuya.
